Out & About at Bath Lodge Castle

Bath is located in the ceremonial county of Somerset in the South West of England. Situated 97 miles west of London, the City was inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 1987. Boasting a variety of theatres, museums, a wide range of city tours, shops and restaurants and other cultural and sporting venues, Bath offers tourists a multitude of fantastic activities and places to visit.

Looking wider into Somerset you find great castles, tranquil abbeys steeped in history, legend and folklore. And of course, the great and ancient stone circle of Stonehenge which evolved between 3000BC and 1600BC and is aligned with the rising and setting of the sun at the solstices: it simply takes your breath away.

Bath Lodge Castle itself is located just six miles from Bath and with just a short walk from the Castle you will find yourself in the picturesque valley of the River Frome, where the hidden treasure of Farleigh Hungerford Castle is located, with many interesting treasures to explore within its walls, and a 14th Century Chapel which houses the tombs of past generations of the Hungerford family who once owned the land which Bath Lodge Castle now resides.
