Out & About at Morley Old Hall

Morley Old Hall is just four miles from the lively market town of Wymondham, famous for its glorious Benedictine abbey, distinctive market cross and the Bridewell museum, as well as many other attractions.

Wymondham is one of the largest towns in South Norfolk, providing a busy centre, an abundance of shops and leisure activities and is also home to the mid Norfolk railway and the historic railway station. The beautiful and unspoilt Tiffey Valley surrounding Wymondham provides the opportunity for fabulous walks.

Just 12 miles away in bustling Norwich you will find the ancient market place, established by the Normans between 1071 and 1074, which is today the largest six-days-a-week open-air market in England.

And slightly further afield is Newmarket, the birthplace and global centre of thoroughbred horse racing with a racing history that dates back as far as 1174. As the largest horse racing training centre in the UK, Newmarket is home to well over 2,000 racehorses. Around 70 trainers and 60 stud farms operate in and around Newmarket and the racecourse has a full racing calendar.
